AIBF Updates & Mandatory Protocol
AIBF has encountered many challenges over the past 42 years, but none quite like the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has presented in 2020. We are so proud of our administration, maestros, families and dancers for coming together during these times to adapt and find creative ways to continue our mission and doing what we love to do most - teaching and learning ballet folklorico!
While we continue monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation in Houston, AIBF made the decision in November 2020 to move its weekly practices for now from our outside plaza location to indoors at MECA East End (formerly Talento Blingue de Houston).
Beginning our 2022-2023 season, face masks will not be required for dancers and instructors although AIBF continues to support any dancer who chooses to wear a mask. It is still requested that all AIBF dancers and staff sanitize their hands before walking into practice after checking in at the front desk. At minimum, one medical grade air purifier will continue to run inside practice spaces during all practices. Per MECA guildelines, parents are not allowed to wait for their dancers inside the practice facility. AIBF will also continue to have COVID protcols in place in terms of exposure and quaratine for students and staff who become infected with COVID-19.
The health and safety of our dancers and families is our number one priority and will continue to be as we navigate these uncertain times with our city and country. AIBF is committed to basing all decisions and changes to our practices and policies on the scientifically based recommendations from local, state and national health officials and authorities.
For any questions regarding or to request a copy of AIBF's COVID-19 policy, please contact our office via email at ambassadorsibf@hotmail.com
